I agree that it would be great to have the Synology handling its own backup, instead of having the PC doing this. Hi Jim, There is not currently a native client for Synology devices.
Need Synology client guys, this would leap you way ahead of the competition then. Listen to your customers! Would obviously be loads and loads better to have the back-up being done by the Synology itself. Looking really, really forward to this add-on. Maybe as a late Xmas gift? I will have to move from Livedrive to a supported cloud backup solution otherwise, which would be a shame as I have been more than pleased with the years I have been using Livedrive.
Although I find the extra NAS price a little on the high side to an already pricey subscription, I would still find it ok to charge for a NAS App to Synology in addition to your subscription. Next time my subscription is up for renewal I probably will close my account as I cannot sit here and throw money out the Window for something that just may never happen.
